Think Taj Mahal…and you think India. But then, it’s a pity, that for the global traveler, India starts & ends with Delhi, Taj Mahal & just a few places in Rajasthan. For that is now only 1% of India…..its a miniscule packaged tour promoted by a few money-hungry tourist operators.
India means much more……it is, in fact the world rolled into this one single country.
Why so ?
Nowhere in this world can you find SUCH DIVERSITY – BIODIVERSITY, DIVERSITY OF CULTURES, DIVERSITY OF ENVIRONMENTS.
India is a study in contrasts. Therefore it widens our mind.
Let me give you examples.
You have the dusty bowls of the Ganga plains filled with the teeming millions, you have the greatest mountain ranges (the Himalayas) towering above them, you have the deserts & the savannahs, you have the mangroves, and you have the seas.
You can go from one of the hottest ( & most polluted) spots on earth to the heavenly destinations of the Himalayas to the freezing alpine ecological spots.
You have the most corrupt politicians in the whole world to the ascetic who has renounced the world.
